In the poker business, we all have witnessed massive growth over the last few years. Poker business people have made good profits during this boom in the industry. We will show you the ways people are being successful in the poker industry.

We start in 1994 when poker player Henry Orenstein invented, and patented, the equipment for the “hole card cam”. This allows viewers to see the hole cards of all of the players when watching televised poker. The first appearance of this invention occurred in 1997 on an English poker telecast.

Poker had been on TV since the 70’s, but no one was watching. This was because not having the knowledge of what the players were working with, you were guessing what the players tactics were. This new innovation made poker on television very addictive.

The next thing that was integral in leading us to the rapid expansion of poker was the onset of poker on the world wide web. The first internet based poker room opened its “doors” in 1998. Players can now play poker in the relaxed surroundings of virtually any place they can imagine. The online poker rooms will see steady growth over the next few years.

This sets the stage for the final event that caused the boom. When Chris Moneymaker wins the WSOP World Championship of Poker in 2003, poker takes off. Gaining his entry thru a $40 online poker room satellite, then winning pokers most coveted tournament, sets off this unique boom.

The combination of the pocket camera creating a large audience watching poker on TV, and the expansion of internet poker broadening the player base, set things up for the poker boom that the Moneymaker win set off. Everyone seeing an online, rookie player, win the biggest tournament in poker, poker took off.

The explosion we see produces a lot of potential money making opportunities for aggressive entrepreneurs. There are many ways to get rich in poker. The vast majority of these opportunities are internet based. Here are a few of the businesses you could succeed with in the booming poker world.

Those with the skill are now trying to be successful professional poker players. A good number of people have gotten very wealthy finding poker players for the online poker rooms. Poker strategy books can be great money makers.

People have developed software tools that assist online players in gaining information from the games they play in. People are starting their own online poker rooms. Some people have started various poker leagues being run at bars and meeting rooms just about everywhere.

This are a few, but definately not all, of the various opportunities that people are finding to cash in on the poker boom. Being in a poker business with an online presence appears to be the most promising. The future for poker still looks bright, and the chance to make big money is availiable for those business people that are ready to go for it.
